This week started off with such devastating grief. I hope you are hanging in there- it's been an incredibly tough few months around the world.

My hope is that, despite everything that's going on around us, this little spot in the Internet can provide a bright spot in your days- even if it's just for a moment. Here's what we've been reading this week:

No more violence.

This podcast about Puerto Rico, and the tricky, in-between space that Puerto Ricans occupy. While half the population are U.S. citizens, many don't get to enjoy the same privileges as citizens on the mainland. "Being in the diaspora is a painful, heartbreaking experience. Most of us don't talk about it, we've learned to live with it."

This Puerto Rico disaster relief Amazon wishlist.

How to help earthquake victims in Mexico.

Why it's totally okay to eat dinner in silence.

I was lucky enough to meet Yottam Ottolenghi and Helen Goh (!) this week at the celebration of their new desserts book launch, Sweet. Here are some beautiful recipes from their book.

Seven species muffins.

alifornia Tom Yum soup from 101 Cookbooks.

Wishing you an extra healing weekend with the people you love.
